Listen: Ben Gibbard – Ichiro’s Theme

Death Cab For Cutie songwriter Ben Gibbard has posted new song ‘Ichiro’s Theme’ online. The song was written about US baseball player Ichiro Suzuki, something of a hero for Gibbard, sonically it is one of simplistic rock and roll chugging with a strong pop sensibility, something that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Death Cab record. ‘Ichiro’s Theme will be part of Gibbard’s forthcoming debut solo LP in October entitled Former Lives.
